Tour of the Grand Circuit – Angkor Archaeological Park

Covering approximately 30 kilometers, this route explores less-crowded but equally stunning temples that showcase the diversity and depth of Khmer architecture and history.

Tour Itinerary

Preah Khan

One of the largest temple complexes in Angkor, Preah Khan was built in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII as a tribute to his father. Surrounded by a moat and dense jungle, the temple is known for its long corridors, intricate carvings, and peaceful atmosphere.

Neak Pean

A unique water temple situated on an artificial island, Neak Pean was originally used for healing rituals. Its central pool and four surrounding basins represent the elements, and the temple itself is linked to ancient beliefs in the healing power of water.

Ta Som

This smaller but photogenic temple is best known for the giant fig tree that has grown over its eastern gate. Built in the late 12th century, Ta Som offers a more intimate, less-touristed experience while still showcasing classic Bayon-style architecture.

East Mebon

Set on what was once an island in the now-dry East Baray reservoir, East Mebon is a 10th-century temple dedicated to Shiva. It features detailed carvings, large guardian elephants, and a layout similar to Pre Rup, with striking views of the surrounding countryside.

Pre Rup

Often visited at sunset, Pre Rup is a mountain temple built in the 10th century as a royal crematorium. Its warm laterite stone glows in the late afternoon light, and its tall central tower provides panoramic views of the Angkor landscape.
